About PHILJAFA
The Philippines-Japan Fellows Association (PHILJAFA) is an association of Filipinos who were recipients of various trainings and scholarships from the prestigious institutions in Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency. PHILJAFA was established in 1966 by a group of ex-JICA participants mostly lawyers and officials coming from various government agencies in the Philippines.
To date, PHILJAFA's membership continues to grows year by year. Currently, PHILJAFA has over 9,000 members working in government, private, and non-government sectors.
Our Goal
With its 41 years of existence as a highly acclaimed and leading professional society in the country; and in keeping with its pledge, the Association shall continue to endeavor in bridging its link into the international community, and cope with the challenges and demands of the society to achieve excellent, friendly and progressive relationship with all humanity.

Vision
Recognized of its steadfast role in upholding closer bond with the international community, PHILJAFA pledge to continuously improve the relationships with all the members, and strengthen its partnership with member associations throughout the Asia-Pacific Region and with JICA.
Mission
To achieve this vision, PHILJAFA's commitment is focused on the following policy directions:
- To further elevate and sustain the established flagship as the leading JICA alumni association across the region.
- To boost the cooperativeand harmonious relations with Japan and the Japanese Government through technical programs and mutual understanding between the Japan Government and strengthen Filipino-Japanese relations.
- Establish a strong linkage with all members and former participants to develop a strong and active alliance of technical and professionals that would enhance the development and progress of the country.
- To strengthen and unite the relationship of alumni members and the member associations throughout the region and with JICA through cooperative relations and effective communication.
